My  motherland  is  Sri  Lanka.  It  is  an  island  situated  in  the  indian  ocean.  sri  Lanka  is  Known  as  the  pearl  of  the  indian  ocean  too.  people  from  other  countries  come  here  to  see  the  beautiful  places  in  my  country.  These  people  admire  our  country.  Mahaveli  is  the  longest  river  in  Sri  Lanka.  kelani,  walawe  and  kalu  are  other  long  rivers.  pidurutalagala  is  the  highest  mountain  namunukula,  samanala  and  kirigalpotta  too  are  high  mountains.  Sri  Lanka  is  a  socialist  oemocratic  country.  Mrs.  chandrika  Bandarayake  kumaratunga  isthe  present  president  of  Sri  Lanka.  The  major  religion  in  Sri  Lanka  is   Buddhism.  The  mejority  of  people  here  are  sinhalese.  There  are  tamils,  Muslims  and  Burghers  too.  Sri  Lanka  exports  tea,  coconut,rubber  and  gems.  It  is  still  a  developing  country.  I  am  loyal  to  my  country.  I  am  alsoboun  to  protect  it.

No  animal  is  taller  than  the  giraffe.  Giraffes  can  grow  as  tall  as  eighteen  feet.  Their  necks  and  legs  ard  very  long.  Their  necks  can  be  seven  feet  long.  All  Giraffes  have  long  eyel  ashes  and  dark  eyes.  Each  has  two  short  horns  between  iteears.  some  Giraffes  arepale  yellow  with  brown  spots.  Others  are  brown  with  yellow  lines.  Giraffes  live  in  africa  on  the  plains.  They  eat  plants  and  leaves.  They  eat  plants  and  leaves.  They  can  reach  food  high  on  the  trees  because  they   are  so  tall.some  Giraffes   sleep  with  their  necks  held  straightup.  some  rest  their  heads  on  their  sides.
